Pilates for Gut Health

Feeling bloated? Gassy? Sluggish? Digestive issues can wreak havoc on your well being and energy levels. But Pilates can help to restore digestive health. Because Pilates strengthens and lengthens the core it can bring balance to the bodies organs. Think of Pilates as a dishrag...it wrings out the system. Every session aims on moving the spine in all directions. We twist, flex, extend, and bend the spine in every which direction so it basically wrings everything out giving the bodies organs a gentle massage. Combine that with the deep focused breathing of a Pilates workout and you have the perfect balancing act for the body. Here's a few of my favourite mat exercises to wring out the body and restore the digestive system. (Saw, Spine Stretch Forward, Swan) Need a little extra help. I think of it as Pilates for the gut!
