How Caring for Your Fascia Can Transform Your Glow and Your Health

Since turning 50, I’ve made it a personal mission to live—and age—well. Not just by checking off the boxes of “healthy habits,” but by truly listening to my body and giving it what it needs to thrive.

My journey started over 25 years ago as a personal trainer and Pilates teacher, and while I’ve always been passionate about movement, my focus has evolved. Back then, it was about fitness. Now? It’s about function. It’s about feeling good in my body, staying mobile and strong, and aging with grace.

Over the years, I’ve continued to learn, grow, and shift my perspective—especially when I discovered the MELT Method. MELT introduced me to the importance of fascia, and it was a total game-changer. It helped me move away from the mindset of “working out to push hard” and into a practice of nurturing my body with care.

Because let’s be honest—you can’t force wellness on your body. You have to care for it.

So… what is fascia, anyway?

Fascia is the fluid-rich connective tissue that wraps around your muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. Think of it as the body’s internal webbing system, made of collagen and elastin suspended in a gel-like matrix that holds everything together.

But fascia needs hydration and movement to stay healthy. When it gets dry, stiff, or stuck (from stress, dehydration, sitting too much, or aging), you might notice puffiness, tightness, sluggishness, or even discomfort in your body.

But when fascia is flowing and hydrated? That’s when you glow.

Healthy fascia supports:

  • Better circulation

  • Lymphatic drainage (hello, less puffiness!)

  • Reduced inflammation

  • Improved skin tone and clarity

  • A strong immune and detox system

MELT changed my approach to movement

MELT is a gentle self-care technique that restores fascial hydration, calms the nervous system, and reconnects you to your body in the most empowering way. It's like giving your body a deep sigh of relief.

Regular MELT practice can lead to:

  • A brighter complexion

  • Smoother movement

  • Less puffiness and stiffness

  • That “lit-from-within” kind of glow

And honestly, it’s not just about how you look—it's how you feel in your own skin.

Collagen: the missing piece I didn’t know I needed

About 8 years ago, I started learning about collagen supplementation. At the time, I was feeling the effects of aging in subtle ways—more stiffness, slower recovery, less resilience. Once I added Liquid BioCell® into my daily routine, I noticed a real shift—not only in my skin, but in how my joints felt, how I moved, and how quickly I bounced back after activity.

As someone who teaches others how to move well, I want to walk the talk—and collagen has become a key part of that.

Your fascia is literally built from collagen. And as we age, our natural collagen production declines. Without enough collagen, fascia becomes dry, brittle, and less elastic. That’s why I supplement with:

  • Liquid BioCell – for Type I, II, and III collagen + hyaluronic acid

  • Vivix – a powerful antioxidant that supports healthy aging at the cellular level

  • Collagen 9 – to get additional Type I and III collagen and vital nutrients for synthesis

I truly believe that if we want to age vibrantly, we have to care for our bodies all the way down to the cellular level.

Want to try MELT right now?

Here’s a simple way to start: Rub your hands together quickly or use a soft ball to create gentle friction on your hands or feet. See the picture below. Just 15 seconds of this can wake up your fascia, improve fluid flow, and reconnect you with your body in the moment.

If you're ready to feel more vibrant, more at ease, and more YOU as you age, start by nurturing what's beneath the surface.Your fascia. Your cells. Your self.

I’d love to support you on your wellness journey. Whether you’re local and want to work with me in person, or you’d prefer to connect over Zoom, I offer wellness coaching, MELT sessions, and movement practices designed to help you feel strong, supported, and deeply cared for. Send me a message at cryne@telus.net to get started.

Your fascia is more than just a buzzword—it’s the foundation of graceful, glowing aging. When you hydrate it, move it, and support it at a cellular level, your body responds with ease, energy, and radiance. Until then, stay hydrated, stay curious, and stay kind to your body. 💛
