How did "spring forward" affect you? With the recent transition into Daylight Savings Time, you may find your body needs a week or two to adapt to a new rhythm. It's only an hour but our bodies love routine so you may feel off for a few days. To ease this transition, the Pillars of Wellness can help.
Move Well: Step outside into the sunshine and fresh air to awaken your senses and boost your mental health. Add don't forget the March Matness celebration continues all month so grab a mat and try some Pilates moves.
Eat Well: Prioritize balanced meals with a mix of complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and colourful vegetables. This ensures sustained energy levels throughout the day and helps your body adjust to the time change more smoothly.
Sleep Well: This is the toughest one this time of year. You're suddenly asking your body to go to bed an hour sooner. Turn off your devices an hour before bed, create a wind down routine, and take a sleep health supplement if necessary.
Think Well: Mindset is everything. And I'll be honest..when my alarm went off this morning my first thought was a negative one. I had to quickly turn that thought around and remind myself that I would have more light hours in the after work hours of the day.
Connect Well: This is the perfect week to meet a friend for coffee. Strong social connections contribute to emotional well-being.
As we spring forward into Daylight Savings Time, it's essential to prioritize our well-being through the Pillars of Wellness. Embracing a mindful approach to movement, nutrition, sleep, mindset, and social connections can ease the transition and support a harmonious adjustment to the time change. Remember, it's not just about setting our clocks forward; it's about setting ourselves up for a season of flourishing health and positive energy. So, take a moment to appreciate the extra daylight, nurture your body and mind, and step into spring with a renewed sense of well-being.
