Personal growth isn’t a destination—it’s a lifelong journey, constantly evolving with each chapter of our lives. There are seasons when we need motivation and mindset shifts, times when we seek healing and restoration, and moments when we crave inspiration to step into our most authentic, vibrant selves.
For me, books have always been more than just words on a page; they’ve been companions through these seasons. The right book at the right time has the power to shift perspectives, spark transformation, and remind us of what truly matters.
With 2025 being my year of Nurture, I’ve been diving deeper into personal growth, focusing on nurturing my mind, body, and spirit. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to explore new ideas and gain insights that help me grow in ways I never imagined. It’s only April, and I’ve already read ten books —with another pile on my desk, ready to help me continue my journey of self-discovery.
As a kid, I loved getting lost in books, escaping into different worlds and ideas. As I’ve grown, I’ve rediscovered that same passion for reading and learning, only now it’s centered around topics that support my growth and help me step into the best version of myself. Whether it’s about developing a mindset for success, deepening self-care practices, or navigating the changing seasons of life, books are an invaluable tool for anyone on the path of personal development.
I can pinpoint specific books that marked pivotal moments in my own personal growth journey.
Girl, Wash Your Face was my first deep dive into personal development. It helped me challenge old narratives and gave me the courage to start this journey of growth and empowerment.
As I began growing my business, I turned to High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard, which provided the strategies to stay focused, productive, and on track to reach my goals.
My leadership journey was shaped by a series of books by John Maxwell on leadership. His insights into personal and professional leadership continue to guide me as I serve others in my community and business.
My parenting journey led me to The Conscious Parent, which offered transformative wisdom about building strong, mindful connections with my children and navigating the challenges of modern parenting.
And through my journey of grief, I found solace and healing in This is How You Heal by Brianna Wiest. This book gave me the tools to process emotions, find strength in vulnerability, and step into healing with a sense of peace and grace.
Each of these books represents a significant part of my journey, offering wisdom just when I needed it most. And I believe that no matter where you are on your own path—whether you're building confidence, deepening self-care, or navigating a season of change—there is a book out there that can help guide you.
I’ve attached a graphic of my recommended reading list to inspire you. These are the books that have deeply impacted me, and I’m excited to share them with you in the hope that they’ll also provide wisdom and insight as you continue your own journey of growth and self-discovery.
I’d love to hear from you! What’s a book that has deeply impacted your personal growth? Shoot me an email to cryne@telus.net —I’m always looking for new reads!
Happy reading and growing!
